India has long faced multifaceted security challenges on all three domains i.e. land, sea, and air. There is hence the need for a credible force. The recent Galwan crisis has shown the need for joint operations and enhanced Civil Military Relations. It is a subset of Political Administrative Interface. The creation of the post of the Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) is often seen as a watershed in CMR in India.
