Brig Suresh Nair SM, VSM** is an alumnus of Sainik school Kazhakootam, Kerala. A product of NDA he was commissioned into 16 Battalion, The Maratha Light Infantry and later commanded 26 Bn. Graduate of Defence Services Staff College, Wellington and Higher Command Course from the Army War College, Mhow, he has varied command experiences in most operational environments. He has held coveted staff appointments
in Military Operations and Perspective Planning Directorates at the Army HQ besides at other levels and been an instructor at DSSC, Wellington, He also had a successful tenure as the senior military observer with the UN Peace keeping operations in Cambodia. Recipient of many awards including UN Force Commander’s commendation, in recognition of his services, he has had an outstanding career. Post leaving the Service prematurely in April 2006, he served with two public sector undertakings till December 2016. He is a member of the Kerala International Centre, a foreign affairs think tank and contributes regularly on military and foreign affairs issues.
